Booking and payments

How do I book?

Shepherd’s Lodge is advertised on multiple holiday platforms such as Airbnb, Booking.com and Sykes Cottages.

Do you take a deposit?

Payments are made in accordance with the booking agent.

When is the balance due?

All balances are due in accordance with the booking agent.

What payment methods do you accept?

Most general payment methods are accepted; however, please confirm with the booking agent.

Do you offer direct booking discounts?

Yes, on all repeat bookings there will be a 5% discount.

Is there a security deposit?

Only if the booking agent requests one.

Check in and check out

What time is check in/check out?

Check in is after 15:00 (3 pm) and check out is by 10:00 (10 am).

Can I request an early check in or late check out?

Unfortunately, not. This is due to the cleaner attending to prepare the property for yourself or the next guest.

How do I access the property?

Access is via a door key located in a key-safe. Information will be provided upon cleared payment of the booking.

Will you meet us on arrival?

No. As there is a key-safe, there is no need for anyone to be present upon your arrival. Just let yourself in and make yourself at home.

The property

How many guests can the property sleep?

There is a king-size bed, two single beds and a bunk bed. As such, Shepherd’s Lodge can accommodate 4 adults and 2 children.

Are towels and bedding provided?

All towels and bedding are provided and are renewed prior to your arrival.

Is there parking?

There is a drive at the front of the property which is large enough for two cars.

Is the Wi-Fi fast?

The Wi-Fi is provided by Virgin Media and is one of the fastest in Skipton.

Is the garden private?

Yes. The garden is fenced around all three sides, making it as private as possible.

Is the property suitable for children?

Yes.

Pets

Are dogs allowed?

Yes.

How many dogs can I bring?

One well-behaved dog is permitted.

Are there extra charges?

No, unless the cleaners have to clear up any mess.

Are there dog-friendly walks nearby?

There are multiple dog-friendly walks in and around Skipton.

Do you provide bowls, blankets or treats?

A food and water bowl are provided along with a dog bed.

What kitchen equipment is provided?

Electric hob, electric oven, combined washing machine/dryer, microwave, under-counter fridge, kettle and coffee machine are provided, along with all general kitchen utensils.

Is there a washing machine/tumble dryer?

Yes.

Do you provide a highchair or travel cot?

No.

Is there a BBQ?

No.

Do you have a log burner?

No.

Location and travel

How far is the property from Skipton town centre?

Approximately 0.2 miles or 300 metres, which takes about 5 minutes to walk.

How close are the nearest shops, pubs and restaurants?

Approximately 5 minutes’ walk.

Is the area quiet?

Yes, although the high street can get busy during the warmer months.

How do I get there by public transport?

Skipton Railway Station is about 10–15 minutes’ walk away. There are multiple buses that stop in Skipton.

Cancellations and changes

What is your cancellation policy?

All cancellations must adhere to the terms and conditions of the company you are booking with.

Can I change my dates?

Yes, as long as the new dates are available and you give plenty of notice.

What happens if I have to cancel last minute?

Although things outside our control do happen, any cancellation fees will be adhered to by the relevant booking agent.

Cleaning and safety

How is the property cleaned between stays?

We employ a professional cleaning company to clean the property prior to all new guests visiting Shepherd’s Lodge. All bedding, towels, bathmats and tea towels are changed.

Do you provide cleaning supplies?

Washing machine and dishwasher tablets are provided, along with washing-up liquid and hand soap.

Is there a first aid kit?

There are plasters available in the kitchen cupboard.

Do you have smoke and CO alarms?

There are smoke alarms installed, along with a carbon monoxide alarm.

Family Friendly Info

Do you provide a cot or highchair?

No.

Are there stairgates?

No.

Are there board games or books?

There are books in the lounge.

Are there family-friendly attractions nearby?

Skipton Castle, canal trips, Aireville Park, Bolton Abbey and Skipton Castle Woods.

Extra Touches

Do you provide a welcome hamper?

Not at present; however, we are exploring this idea for guests booking a minimum one-week stay.

Do you offer recommendations for things to do?

Yes, just reach out to us and we will endeavour to assist.

Can you help with special occasions?

As costs do fluctuate in this area, we don’t at the moment. However, watch this space.
